Blur Lens Flare Transition

Step 1 — Get your footage

Download the Japan vlog video clips from the shared Google Drive folder and import them into a Footage bin in your project.

Step 2 — Build your base montage

Using Mark-In (I) / Mark-Out (O), edit at least 5 clips onto V1 of the timeline. Leave a few extra seconds of unused footage at the start/end of each clip — this gives you room to add transitions later.

Step 3 — Apply transitions

1. Open the Effects panel: Window > Effects
2. Go to Video Transitions and explore the categories (Blur, Dissolve, Slide, Wipe, etc.)
3. You may use any transition you like — Blur Lens Flare or otherwise
4. Drag your chosen transition onto a cut point between two clips
5. Repeat for at least 3 different cut points

Step 4 — Customise duration

Click on one transition, open Effect Controls. Change the Duration field to a value different from the default (try shorter for energy, longer for a smoother feel). Preview your change.

Step 5 — Customise alignment

Try the three alignment options on one transition: Center at Cut, Start at Cut, End at Cut. Choose the one that works best and keep it.

Step 6 — Balance your edit

Make sure not every cut has a transition — keep some hard cuts too. Total montage duration: 40–50 seconds.

Step 7 — Save and export

1. Save your project: Ctrl+S / Cmd+S
2. Export: File > Export > Media > Format: H.264 > Export
